A slate table is not a curbside job
A pool table looks like furniture until you try to move one. Underneath the cloth is a frame, rails, and slate that usually comes in three pieces, each of them heavy and brittle. Slate does not bend, so a piece that is tilted wrong on a stair, or set down on a corner, cracks or chips an edge. It can also take a stair tread, a doorframe or a hardwood floor with it.
That is why most people who try to take their own table apart end up calling someone anyway. The fittings are hidden, the pieces have to come off in the right order, and a basement or second floor room with a tight stairway turns a long afternoon into a hazard. Nothing about it belongs at the curb or in a driveway.
